Family, General and Preventive Dentistry
Prevention is the key to a lifetime of oral health for every member of the family. Coming in for routine checkups and hygiene contribute to your overall wellbeing. Not only is a clean, beautiful smile a confidence booster, studies show that healthy teeth and gums can reduce your risk for major illnesses such as heart disease, diabetes, respiratory infections, and memory loss. When you come in for your preventive dental appointment, we perform:
- Digital X-Rays and Intraoral Photographs
- Oral Cancer Screening
- Periodontal/Gum Exam
- Bite Assessment/TMJ Analysis
- Tooth-by-Tooth Inspection
- Clean & Polish Teeth
- Review Your Concerns
- Treatment Planning if Necessary
With regular checkups and diligent care at home, we can protect your teeth from plaque and bacteria. We might also recommend additional preventive measures to ensure your oral health including dental sealants (anti-cavity coatings) or fluoride supplements (tooth-strengthening mineral) that are appropriate for both children and adults. Are you nervous about receiving extra care? We can help with oral conscious sedation. This comforting service eases feelings of anxiety so that nervous patients can relax and rest easy. It’s just one more way we can help you smile!
Pediatric Care
The ADA recommends that children begin seeing a dentist no later than age three. We also recommend bringing your child with you to your dental visits. At this young age, we can begin creating positive associations with dental visits – associations that will carry into their adult years and shape the future of their dental care. We also educate children on home-care, examine their teeth, and provide cavity-preventing treatments. Extra-oral X-rays are also important, not to mention comfortable. With X-rays, our doctors can help you make more informed choices about your child’s care. Let us help your children learn the importance of optimal oral health from a young age.
